Hair and There – The Benefits of Hair Analysis

Hair and There – The Benefits of Hair Analysis

What is Head Hair Analysis?

Head hair analysis is simply a chemical test performed on a sample of hair.  A piece of hair is sent to a testing laboratory where the hair is processed and analysed. Hair analysis is deemed by some as a means of determining the levels of heavy metals and poisons in the hair sample [1] as well as minerals and other trace elements.

Hair is an active tissue in the body which is “affected by the blood, perspiration, environment, genetics, hormones and enzymes”.[2] Our hair represents the condition of our bodies at a cellular level and gives a reading of what is being stored in the body. “For example, if mercury is high in the hair, a higher concentration of it would also be found in organs like the kidney and liver” [2].

What do Hair Analysis Tests Show?

Hair and microscopeUsing the results of hair analysis tests, qualified health professionals are able to assess a person’s toxic heavy metal load and poisons exposure which come from the air, dust, soil, water, food and toxins in the environment. Hence, hair analysis is now increasingly being used as a preliminary test to see whether individuals have absorbed poisons often linked to health problems”. [1]

“Some advocates claim they can also diagnose mineral deficiencies and that people with autism have unusual hair mineral contents.[1]  It has been noted that “most hair which is sent for analysis has been cosmetically treated in some way (bleached, permed etc.)’ …  however, it has been “proven that results are (surprisingly) not significantly affected by such treatments”.[1]

Advantages of Hair Analysis

Hair scissorsThere are numerous advantages in having a hair analysis test.  It is an easy screening method for the presence of toxic substances which are known to be dangerous to health.  There is no needle in sight. It is non-invasive and reasonably priced.  The only preparation required is finding a pair of scissors to cut a small piece of hair.  Anyone can send some strands of hair for analysis.

Official Bodies

The Society of Hair Testing is an official body founded in 1995 to “promote the research in hair testing technologies in forensic, clinical and occupational sciences, to develop the international proficiency tests, to organize meetings and workshops and to encourage the scientific cooperation and exchanges among members”.[3]  A Consensus on Hair Analysis was finalised in Sevilla, Spain in January, 2004.

Australian ‘Real Life’ Stories

Following are two Australian ‘real life’ stories with hair analysis results taken before and after using activated liquid zeolite.

Tony P – is a man who had extremely high lead levels. They were so high that his doctor advised that the use of EDTA chelation therapy might damage him permanently. He chose to use activated liquid zeolite and after 3 months showed a 6 fold decrease in lead levels. [4]

Here are Tony’s results. Notice the difference in lead levels.

Element October 2006 May 2007 % Change
Arsenic 0.26 0.27 0
Cadmium 0.003 0.003 0
Aluminium 0.9 0.7 22%
Lead 1.1 0.2 82%
NIickel 0.26 0.17 35%
Strontium 0.32 0.17 47%

John G – is a man who puts everything to the test.  His hair analysis was carried out by a Sydney laboratory, first in July 2006 and then again in January 2007 after taking activated liquid zeolite.  John says that “when I received my first hair analysis, it was pretty good.  I had some Arsenic, Cadmium, Mercury, and Barium which was off the scale. I also showed low iron and copper levels”.[4]

John’s second hair sample sent to the same laboratory in January 2007 showed a great improvement after taking activated liquid zeolite. Iron levels improved and Mercury, Arsenic and Cadmium had markedly reduced. Most importantly John’s Barium level had dropped by 63% and was now in the normal range.  Low levels of Barium are important for a healthy heart.

Element July 2006 January 2007 % Change
Arsenic 0.10 0.006 40%
Cadmium 0.008 0.004 50%
Aluminium 0.4 0.3 25%
Barium 0.61 0.23 62%
Vanadium 0.008 0.004 50%
Strontium 0.23 0.07 70%

The above ‘real life’ stories unequivocally show that activated liquid zeolite removes toxins and heavy metals from the body. These results may significantly differ from most other chelating therapies which are known to also remove minerals and vitamins from your body.

What does this mean for you?

Mineral imbalances and toxic metal excesses are often identified in health conditions including cancer, high cholesterol, arthritis, heart disease, migraines, learning difficulties and hyperactivity. “Environmental pollutants, chemical food additives and stressful lifestyles also have a detrimental effect on our nutritional status”. [3]

A hair analysis may be an effective alternative test for you to determine the level of toxins and heavy metals in your body.  The test is non-invasive and low cost and can be performed in Australia, however, laboratories are also available worldwide.

Zeolite bottleBy performing a test before and after you use activated liquid zeolite, you can prove its effectiveness. When you fully understand the extent of damage that heavy metals and toxins can do to your body, you will want to make sure you don’t have any! Why wait to take affirmative action until we get sick when, by reducing our toxic load, we may be reducing the disease causing elements in our bodies.  The more we understand about the environment in which we live, the more opportunity we have to move through our world in health, peace and contentment.

Hair Analysis can be performed in Australia by Interclinical Laboratories in Sydney, Phone: 02 9693 2888.
